LLDAP

LLDAP is an LDAP server stripped to what self-hosted apps actually need: users, groups and authentication, managed through a simple web UI instead of arcane ldif files. It runs on SQLite and uses a fraction of the memory of OpenLDAP or Active Directory alternatives.

It is intentionally not a general-purpose directory — schema extensions and exotic LDAP features are out of scope. That is the trade that makes it approachable.

The ideal user backend behind Authelia, Authentik or Jellyfin when you want one user list for the whole homelab without becoming an LDAP administrator.
